Family Of Origin

If you find yourself repeating unwanted relational patterns rooted in your upbringing, together we can use family systems theory to recognize these dynamics and discover new, healthier ways of connecting with yourself and others.

I draw on evidence-based strategies to help you navigate anxiety, depression, and other mental health concerns. With a somatic perspective, I consider both mind and body, supporting your healing in a holistic way.

Trauma-Informed Care

Questions

Is there a difference between Counseling and Psychotherapy?

There is a lot of overlap with counseling and psychotherapy. They both are a safe, supportive space to grow and heal.

Counseling tends to focus on the here and now - helping you navigate specific challenges, make decisions, or develop new ways of coping. It's often more short-term and practical, aimed at finding clarity and building skills that support everyday life.

Psychotherapy explores the roots of patterns, emotions, and experiences that shape how you relate to yourself and others. This work can take more time and often leads to deeper insight, healing and lasting change.

The two often blend together. Both can be valuable paths toward greater awareness, balance, and well-being.

What is EMDR?

    • EMDR is based on the understanding that traumatic or overwhelming experiences can get “stuck” in the nervous system. Instead of being processed and stored as normal memories, they remain emotionally charged — which can show up as:
    • Intrusive memories
    • Emotional triggers
    • Anxiety or panic
    • Shame or negative self-beliefs
    • Body tension or dysregulation

EMDR helps the brain reprocess these memories so they become less distressing and feel more like something that happened in the past — not something that is still happening now.

Why "Still Waters"?

Still waters offers so much - if we slow down enough to truly experience them. They hold peace, quiet and a gentle sense of being held. Only in still waters can you see a clear reflection - of the world around us and of ourselves.

And when we are willing, and the conditions are right, we can look beneath the surface to discover new depths of awareness.
